Analysis Home Button Fault After Screen Replacement

The next iPhone occurred the home button can't work normally, we know the fault was caused by the screen replaced.

Obviously ,we should disassemble it ,we need adhere professional phone repair tools  to do this job. Let us start our fix job.

Following the detail repair process:

1. Restore iPhone Software

Restore software on iPhone 7 can sometimes help. At first, back up your phone, reboot your phone into DFU mode and perform a complete restore. In a lot of cases, this will fix your home button wonderfully without any hardware work. 

2. Check iPhone Cable

The iPhone 7 3D touch and home button share a single cable that leads to your phone's interior. But this cable is very fragile. To check it, you have to remove the metal plate behind the screen.

If the cable is damaged, you must change the whole iPhone 7 backlight. In some cases, you can get the backlight from the old screen. Changing the backlight is not expensive and difficult, but the actual repair may be a bit tricky, so it;s better to consider looking for a professional to avoid damaging your cell phone.

How to replace by yourself?

- Use professional iPhone 7 opening tool kit to open screen.

- Use a phone repair heat gun to carefully loosen the adhesive. 

- Slice the adhesive around the top and sides of the backlight.

- Use a thin object to separate the backlight from the iPhone 7 LCD screen and case. Be especially careful not to damage the foil around the 3D touch pad.

- Replace the backlight. 

- Clean the outside of your screen before re-assembling your phone.



3. Turn On Virtual Home Button Function

It's not an ideal solution to really solve the iPhone 7 home button problem but can help you to finish the temporary operation. Just turn on a software home button rather than rely on the physical one that failed. When you turn on assistive Touch, your phone' s operating system will put a virtual home button at the bottom of your screen. Unique Way for iPhone 7 Frozen Screen Issue

As we know, the iPhone 7 frozen issue occurred frequently as of the iPhone 7 released. Some of our clients issued this phenomenon again and again, today our vipfix team will provide a new repair and around solution way for this fault regarding iPhone 7 logic board , we hope it can be useful for you phone repair.

1. Turn on the iPhone 7, we found the screen is stuck off and power button responses very slowly.

2. Tear down the iPhone and disassemble the display assembly. Replace with a new iPhone 7 display assembly.

3. Now we try to turn on the phone again and test. The screen is still stuck off.

4. Enter the record mode, the record icons are in a non - functional state. Screen replacement is not helpful to the stuck problem, we can see that there is a problem in the audio circuit. Now turn to the iPhone 7 logic board repair.

5. Tear off the shield sticker on the iPhone logic board.

6. Some BGA solder is required to apply around the iPhone 7 AUDIO IC, then use a hot air gun at 300 degrees. Now the audio integrated circuit is removed.

7. Use a soldering iron with rosin to clean tin. And take solder wick for the repeat cleaning. After that, use PCB cleaner again.

8. Use a digital multimeter to test Pin C12 value (u3101 audio IC). The resistance value is swinging.



9. Take out WUXINJI schematic diagram for reference. The signal of the pin: 12s-ap-to-codec-mclk C12. The signal and CPU pass through the resistance r1103.

10. Scrape the insulation varnish off the copper wire connecting pin C12 and resistor R1103. Solder tins and then solder the 0.02mm copper wire.

11. Apply some UV curable solder mast to the soldered copper wire, place logic board UV drying lamp for 15 minutes.

12. Take the BGA reballing stencil to reball the iPhone 7 audio IC

13. Some BGA solder paste is injected into the weld plate. Then the audio IC at the right place, blow it with a hot air rework station at 280 degrees

14. Once the logic board is cool enough, use the PCB cleaner to clean it.

15. Assemble the phone and test.

16. The touch function and the recording function are restored to normal.

Introduce iPhone 6S Signal Part Fault Detail

Completely no signal

we should make clear the baseband is starting properly, then input *#06# in the dial-up interface, if the iPhone 6s screen does not appear a string of numbers (IMEI code) which means that the baseband does not start properly, for some iPhone devices, you can see IME but if the iPhone screen does not display the IMEI after entering *#06# on the dial-up interface, it also means that the baseband doesn't start normally, this is usually caused by the baseband CPU false welding, or it's also possible that baseband power is false welding, the solution is to replace new iPhone 6S CPU or baseband power parts.

If you input *#06# and see IMEI codes, it means the baseband belongs to normal start, in this case, try to install different SIM card separately, if all the SIM cards you install have no signal, the problem in the public sector, or if IC emission power supply problems, this possibility may be a bit bigger, the base band CPU or baseband power may also cause the situation. Replace new parts can solve the signal problem.

Part of SIM cards have no signal

If there is no signal for part of the SIM card, for example, there is a 4G network but you can't call on the phone. It means that there is a problem in the 2G transmitting part, since the mobile 4G needs to switch to 2G when it calls, which is usually the problem of 2G power amplifier or 2G antenna switch, replace new parts can solve the problem.

If there is 2G but no 4G signal, the problem is on the 4G amplifier and the iPhone 3G/4G antenna switch. Replace new parts can solve it!

Analysis Weak Signal Part for iPhone 7/7P

The next repaired iPhone occurred the weak signal problem, according to our experiences, we doubt there exist some IC damage in motherboard, let us start our fix process.

Following the repair process:

1. iPhone 7/7P has no signal at all, infinite search.

Get into IOS, go to Settings>- General>- About to check whether there is the IMEI.

If the IMEI is not displayed on this iPhone, then you need connect iPhone to DC power supply to check iPhone boot current, and then determine if it has a large current issue. If there is a phenomenon of leakage, then you can fix it with leakage methods; if the current is normal, then you can directly replace the baseband power without test, and then re-install the iPhone baseband CPU.

If IMEI is displayed on the iPhone normally, then set up the time （WiFi Automatic settings available）， enter the Dial-up interface, press *#06# to see if the IMEI can be displayed. If IMEI can't be displayed, then you need to use hot air gun and tweezers to replace Power Amplifier IC-QPOET_RF, and replace baseband power BBPMU_RF, re-install the baseband CPU--BB_FR, replace LBPA_RF, replace MHBDSM_RF.

2. iPhone 7/7P has no signal at all, try different SIM card

Press *#06# and the IMEI can be displayed normally, and then you can try insert different SIM card to check. If you insert any SIM card, it still shows no signal, and then you can check the antenna under the Trinocular Stereo Microscope, and then replace it, replace MF IC and Power Amplifier IC-QPOET_RF.

3. Some damaged IC will cause different SIM card has no signal

It is noteworthy that if system under the hardware abnormal case, then the 4G function will be auto close. If there is no 4G or even you fixed the hardware, but still no 4G, you can erase all the data and then restore settings.

After we analysis the phone detail , we can know the sources fault, but if we need to fix it, we still need to disassemble it and check which IC cause this fault.

Way to Fix Process for iPhone 6 Speaker No Sound

Fault Description: iPhone 6 Speaker No Sound.

Possibility Fault Sources: Software Error or Sound IC Driver Error

Solve way: We will disassemble it and test the voltage, according to the value to decide the next step.

Following the repair process:

First check to see if iPhone 6 speaker has no sound when receiving calls or playing music. After checking, there's really no sound coming out of the IPhone 6 speakers, it just keeps silence. However, when we insert earpiece, sound can be heard normally. This means the iPhone audio IC is normal, so the fault may be in the speaker or audio power amplifier circuit.

Disassemble the iPhone and then use multimeter to measure the resistance value of 1# and 2# on charging port flex cable connector, the data is normal, which means the loudspeaker buzzer is normal. Keep going to measure the resistance between 1# of J1817 and grounding, 2# and grounding, the data is normal, this means that there is no problem with the circuit from the charging port connector to U1601.

Take off the iPhone motherboard and observe it under the 7-45X Trinocular Stereo Microscope, there is no water damaged or moldy conditions. Put iPhone motherboard on PCB holder fixture. Blow shield cover with hot air gun and remove it with curved tweezers.



Now connect iPhone motherboard to DC power supply to measure the power supply voltage of U1601. Measure the voltage of the corresponding capacitor C1635, the data is normal. Continue to measure the filter capacitors C1603 around U1601, the problem was found, the voltage value is 0, it's abnormal.

Measure the diode data between C1603 and grounding with Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter, the data is normal. Since C1603 is output by U1601, so we suspect the fault is U1601. Remove the U1601, clean tins and then apply some low-temperature tins to the solder pad, and then measure the resistance between A6# of U1601 and grounding, now it's normal.

Measure the resistance between A2# and grounding, the data is 0L, it is open circuit. Because U1601 A2# and B2# are connected to the battery cathode through L1604, so now we suspect the fault is L1604.

Replace the new L1604, and then measure the resistance between A2# and grounding again, it's normal now. Now, solder the U1601 with QUICK 861DW again, after finish that, assemble the iPhone.

After we finished the above step, we test it and boot it again, the music can be heard and the call also can runs normally.So we think this is a succeed fix, of course ,if you have any good idea, welcome to add my Whatspp to discuss it.

Effective Way for Dealing Dead Cell Phone

- Insert the charger to check whether the battery is charging. If there is a "battery charging" icon, but the phone does not turn on, check the power on/off switch. The voltage of the switch must be 2.5 to 3.5 V. Clean or replace the switch. Check whether the switch needs a jumper to help.

- If the phone can't turn on after the software is reflashed, heat CPU, power IC and flash IC.
